What is Podcasting and RSS?

RSS is a way for content creators to distribute their latest work to those who want it. Rather than asking you to give out your email address, RSS allows a you to anonymously subscribe to recieve notice (and if you want the whole article) when there is new content at your favorite websites. Many personalized home pages (such as My.Yahoo), as well as contemporary browsers like Firefox, offer easy to use methods for receiving RSS feeds. There is a ton of information on the web about the newest way of accessing information.
Podcasting via RSS is just an extension of this concept. You might think of a podcast as a "Tivo'ed" radio show, that you can listen to when and how you want - on your PC, using your MP3 player, or with just a web browser.
You can listen to podcasts one at a time (here at Bimbopolitics we offer both streaming and downloadable links) or you can 'subscribe' to the entire podcast series using software on your PC. When you subscribe to a podcast, all new shows will be automatically downloaded to your computer as they are published. And if you have an MP3 player, the next time you sync your device, your podcasts will be downloaded for listening on the go.
If you have the appropriate software and an iPod or other MP3 player (or use Yahoo's My.Yahoo), you can have our Podcast automatically downloaded by using the Podcast Feed link (at the top of this page and on our home page). Alternately, you may subscribe to Bimbopolitics by RSS (Real Simlple Syndication) and have the latest from Jacoozi delivered to you as soon as it hits the web by using any of the many RSS readers (Mozilla's Thunderbird works very well both for RSS and as a safe alternative to Outlook for your email)
